MSNBC 10/13/2025 5:16:00 AM: ...united states gives more aid to israel than any other country in the world. by far. it gives an enormous amount of aid to egypt, to to have egypt abide by its peace agreement with israel. so that's the leverage here. and it's to president trump's credit, he brought more pressure. again, as i said earlier on, prime minister netanyahu than any other american president has to to make this moment happen. he he's very personally committed to hostages. he's bragged about how many people he has freed. again, i think the biden administration has a strong record on this as well. but there was talk earlier today in j.d. vance said yesterday that you might even see the president meeting with some of the hostages that were freed today. i think that's that's a possibility because this is such a crucial issue for him. but as jake said, it's the long term process here. will president trump, as you said, keep touching the ball? will he follow through in the months ahead and turn the ceasefire into a long term peace agreement? he tends to move from issue to issue. both of you and jake know better than i do the president. but that's the question. does he stay on this and does he actually create a long term peace settlement that brings peace to gaza and even, you know, possibly some sort of resolution, at least in the short term, to this, this israeli-palestinian conflict. >> yeah. and so as we look ahead, david, road to this address to the knesset, which at this point is over an hour beyond when we thought that it was going to kick off again, i imagine that's in large part because netanyahu and trump alike have been watching and waiting for the return of all of the hostages we can put up on the screen for you a tweet from the idf showing and in their words, saying it's official. there are no more living israeli hostages in hamas captivity. we've talked with david noriega and others over the course of the last hour about just how much emotional strain there has been, because these hostages have been overstaying in hamas captivity over the course of the last two years. but can you talk about the ways that that might shape the president's speech, as we continue to wait for him to give these remarks, and what kinds of things he might say that give a little bit more confidence to the idea that this could be an enduring peace, despite the fact that there are still so many questions about enforcement, about the way that israeli troops will continue to pull out of the region, and about the daylight between how trump and the white house are saying this is over. and yet netanyahu is not echoing those exact words yet. >> i think it's critical in this address that president trump give very strong security ...
